Study
Students often have many problems related to studying. Students may find it hard to balance study, sleep, social, and other parts of life. Students may also struggle in reaching the expected performance in specific challenging courses. Adapting to different education systems could be a challenge for international students. And many students may lack interest in their studies or are unclear about their future goals. Don’t hesitate to talk with us. Our peer supporters have similar experiences, and we can work it out together.
Culture
Culture shock is common for international students or anyone who has just encountered a new culture group. Students may feel uncertain about whether they should integrate into a new culture and may be unclear about how to do so. International students may also worry about communication with local people because of the different languages. Students have difficulty understanding the social norms in an unfamiliar culture. All of our peer supporters have a multicultural background, and our experience in dealing with these problems may be helpful.
Relationship
Romantic relationships, friendships, family relationships, and other relationships are a significant part of our lives. They are essential to our mental well-being. Students may have trouble finding or maintaining close friendships. They may lack experience in romantic relationships, or worry about the strength of that relationship. Some may need help in recovering from a past relationship.
Family relationships are also crucial for mental health. Having trouble in the family relationship can cause anxiety and other problems. Our peer supporters are here with you and continuously support you during the crisis-solving process.
Anxiety
Almost everyone has some stressful moments or periods. Anxiety and depression are common problems that many students experience at least once in their lives. Many issues such as insomnia and lack of interest or energy can happen during anxiety or depression. The cause may be complex, including trouble with relationships, culture, and studies. Our peer supporters can analyze the problems with you. Many of our supporters have experienced some periods of anxiety or depression and have helpful tips in dealing with these problems.
